College Essay Workshop: Attention juniors … It’s time to start thinking about the college application process. The Writing Lab Team is ready to help! Join us for a college essay writing workshop after school in the Learning Commons/Library on Thursday, May 23rd.
Powder Puff: Powderpuff game

When: Wednesday, May 22nd - gates open at 5:30pm, game starts at 6:30
Cost: $5 per individual, $20 for a family of 5+

Parking Updates: The parking lots in the front of the school will be closed on Friday, May 17th for the Mock Crash. Students with work release parking spaces are encouraged to take their school bus or arrange alternate accommodations. Pick up traffic will not be able to enter the campus until 2pm. Remind your parents to please not arrive before this to ensure emergency vehicles can exit and students can reenter the building safely.

Senior Kennywood Trip: Seniors-Kennywood permission forms and checks or cash need to be submitted by May 22nd. No forms or payment will be accepted after. If you do not intend to go to Kennywood on June 5th- you will need to report to school that day. Check or cash and forms need to be in an envelope with your name on it and handed to Ms. Benson in room 236. Season pass holders still need to fill out a permission form. Extra forms and envelopes are outside of room 236.
Library Closed: The library is closed for AP testing. This includes before and after school. The printer will not be available.
Military Visit: A representative from the Marines will be visiting during all lunch periods on Thursday, May 23rd.
Air Force Academy: There will be a US Air Force Academy and Air Force ROTC Informational Meeting to learn about the US Air Force Academy, a perennial top 10 engineering and NCAA Division I college. The meeting will cover the application process for US Air Force Academy, Air Force ROTC programs and scholarships, future careers as an officer in the US Air Force. For more email [email protected] Keystone Exams: Attention students taking the Spring Keystone Exams! Room assignments are posted in the main hallway beside the stairs to the cafeteria along with the testing Code of Conduct. Take a minute to note you testing location and read the Code of Conduct before test day. Test takers are strongly encouraged to get a good night’s sleep the night before each exam, eat breakfast in the morning, leave your cell phone at home or in your locker on testing day, and bring two #2 pencils & a calculator if applicable. If you have questions or concerns, see Mrs. Prinsen in the counseling office. All students should make note of the adjusted bell schedule for May 21 & 23 ONLY.
Track and Field: Congratulations to those who went up to Slippery Rock and competed yesterday for WPIAL Individual Championships:
Special recognition to Reston Lehman for placing 4th in javelin, Julian Molinero 8th in pole vault, Meagan McKenna placed 6th in 1600, and the team of Paige Malley, Serafina Forlini, Mia Helbig and Maddie Gawenus set the school record again in the 4 by 100 relay!
Yesterday was so much fun that we are going back up today for Grace Senneway and Sydney Shock to compete in the 3200.
